Kenny Welsh, a member of our Guest Services Team at The Centre, discovered a fascinating police report from 1938 while doing some research on the local area. It reveals details about the early efforts to protect the beloved Loch Ness Monster, affectionately known as Nessie. This document offers a glimpse into the ongoing mystery of Loch Ness, shedding light on historical attempts to preserve the creature as it was protected under local police guidance.

During a recent test deployment of the National Oceanography Centre’s AUTOSUB AUV in Loch Ness, a discovery was made of a fifty-five-year-old relic from the Loch Ness Investigation Bureau. This relic was an ingenious underwater camera system which has now been donated to The Loch Ness Centre.
